bEはアメリカ合衆国出身、東京在住の芸術家である。彼女は１９８３年にフィリピンのバコロッド市に生まれ、アメリカ合衆国のワシントンD.C.で育つ。２００２年、カリフォルニア州ロサンゼルスに移り、スケートボード、パンクロック、そしてグラフィティの文化に深く感銘を受け日々を過ごす。そこで、”People in Progress”　という団体にてカウンセラーに似たメンターとして若者の良き指導者として従事した。その団体はギャング、薬物、エイズの予防、そして大人の薬物依存のリハビリを促進する場所である。そして”Luna, Tierra, Sol Cafe”という、アーティストや、ミュージシャン、そして色々なクリエイティブな人が集まるカフェのメンバーとして働いた。２００７年から２００９年まではUCLAの芸術と建築専門の学校で芸術を専攻した。その間、交換留学生として東京のICUにて日本の演劇とコンテンポラリー文化を学びました。

bE is an artist from the U.S. who is currently based in Tokyo.  Born 1983 in Bacolod City, Philippines and raised in the Washington D.C. area, she moved to Los Angeles, California in 2002 to experience life and immerse herself in skateboard, punk rock, and graffiti cultures.  There, she worked as a youth mentor for People in Progress — a program for gang, drug, and AIDS prevention and adult drug rehabilitation — and was also a member and worker at the creative-run cooperative, “Luna, Tierra, Sol Cafe”.  From 2007-2009 she had formal art training at the UCLA School of Art and Architecture.  During that time she studied abroad at Tokyo’s International Christian University to learn about Japanese theater and contemporary culture.

父親の仕事の都合により幼少期３年間をコロンビア共和国で、高校時代をアメリカ合衆国カリフォルニア州で過ごす。カリフォルニア大学ロサンゼルス校、Department of Artでビデオアートを中心に学び、卒業後に帰国。
現在はビデオアーティストとしての活動を再開している。

Video artist

Born in Chiba prefecture, Japan. Recently basing in both Tokyo and Yokohama area.
On account of her father’s work, she spent three years of her childhood in Republic of Colombia, and high school years in California, Los Angeles. She focused her studies on animation and video art while attending University of California Los Angeles. After graduating, she moved back to Japan. 


Now, she’s beginning to work again as a video artist.
